President's Message - May, 2014

May 22, 2014
Hello

There is currently an effort by the Department to Reengineer the way the Department works. From Top to Bottom and Bottom up. All facets of the Department are being scrutinized. There are 89 teams from 15 Groups. Each team focuses on a topic with members of the Department from various ranks depending on their willingness to assist. Everyone was given the opportunity to voice their ideas and concerns via the Department Intranet. Those that were not able to utilize this access, were provided emails and addresses to the Re-engineering Team.

The Department is quite large and not everyone was able to participate or were cautious about voicing criticisms and concerns. The Department is again reaching out to ALL in an attempt to hear from each and everyone of you. Everyone who calls the NYPD family.
Police Commissioner Bratton is encouraging all to participate in the Department Survey that is being distributed.  This is a another great opportunity for YOU a member of this Department, to be included in the 2014 Re-engineering process. You may be part of a team, have logged in or have emailed. I want you to do it again. Ensure that YOUR voice, Yes YOU with the Tax number, get YOUR voice heard.

The PBA, DEA, SBA, LBA and CEA are fully supportive of this survey. Information gathered will be helpful in building upon the past successes of the NYPD and in the development of the future plans for our dept. You can help steer this Department to maintain our moniker as the "Greatest Police Department in the World". No Department has the Diversity that we, the NYPD has.

The NYPD Committee of Police Societies goal is to help the Department attain a 100% return, Not only from our members, but from everyone. To do this WE need your help. We need you to reach out to your partners, co-workers, friends, friends of friends, bosses. Help us make this happen.

Your responses are confidential and passwords will be provided to guarantee individual anonymity.

I thank you in advance for your support of the Committee Of Police Societies and your support of the Greatest Police Department in the World. Always remember that we are One, we are ALL BLUE different shades of Blue, But WE ARE ALL BLUE. STRENGTH IN THE MASSES, AND IN UNITY, WERE ARE ONE!

Thank You
Fraternally
